Young net minder Tom Murdy has signed a new deal that will keep him at the Link Centre until the end of the 2012-13 season.
The Newcastle born net minder has impressed Head Coach Ryan Aldridge since his arrival at the club and a delighted Aldridge confirmed the deal following the clubs 7-2 victory against the Telford Tigers at the weekend saying: “Thomas is a real asset for the club and he has a bright future in the game.
“This is great news for the club and he really fits in well to what we are trying to achieve here”.
Aldridge added: “It was important to get Tom signed up early, just as he did last season.
“He came in and played great up until his injury and its been very frustrating for the time that he’s been out and we’ve probably taken longer to bring him back in to the side because of his age and the career he has ahead of him . We wanted to get him signed up early and we’ve managed to do that.
“I think it’s a great plus for us, he’s a great kid and a great goalkeeper.”
Concluding, Murdy said: “Ryan asked me if I would be interested in signing for another season at Christmas and I was more than happy to stay at the club." |
