The Swindon Wildcats squad building continued this morning after forward Lee Richardson was confirmed on the 2012-13 roster.

Speaking after the contract was signed yesterday evening, Head Coach Ryan Aldridge said: “Richie [Lee Richardson] is like a part of the furniture here at the club – a comfy sofa that you never want to leave, so I’m really happy that he has agreed a new deal.

“He had a great campaign last season and playing in the middle of [Jonas] Hoog and [Aaron] Nell worked really well for us.  We are trying really hard to keep that line together for next season and he brings a wealth of experience to the squad.

“He is a great leader in his own little ways and is solid at both ends of the ice.  He takes pride in the D-zone and he is great on the PK,  he really was a player that we needed to keep at the club.”

Net minder: Thomas Murdy.

Defence: Shane Moore, Jan Melichar, Paul Swindlehurst and Steve Whitfield.

Forwards: Ryan Aldridge, Aaron Nell, Lee Richardson and Nicky Watt.

Richardson’s stats for the 2011-12 season: Iced – 54, Goals – 10, Assists – 31, points – 41.
