The Swindon Wildcats – Live Ice Hockey in Swindon - BE PART OF IT

The Swindon Wildcats are proud to be one of the fastest growing Ice Hockey clubs in Great Britain, and the Premier Ice Hockey club in the West Country having increased their attendances and season ticket holders every season for the past 5 years. With the Wildcats in the Community scheme formed in July 2008 and introducing a record number children and adults alike to the ice the club are proud to be a huge part of the local community. Through our many varied sponsorship packages we are working with an increasing number of companies in promoting their businesses to our growing fanbase.

The Swindon Wildcats Ice Hockey team play in the fast and furious, English Premier League. Over the course of the season we will play approximately 30 home matches, competing against teams from Manchester, Milton Keynes, Guildford, Slough, Telford, Bracknell, Sheffield, Basingstoke and Peterborough. The matches traditionally last two and a half hours spaced over three twenty-minute periods, with two fifteen-minute intervals in between.

The Ice Rink

West Swindon’s Link Centre is the home Ice Rink of the Swindon Wildcats.

The 1600 capacity venue celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, and offers one of the best viewing rink’s in the country, with VIP areas and catering outlets for everyone.

Gameday

The atmosphere of a Wildcats home game is not to be missed, and is a family friendly experience which has seen attendances rise year on year.  Crowds range between 700 for midweek games to over 1300 for key fixtures, with the Cats home game at the end of last against the Manchester Phoenix being the largest Ice Hockey attendance in Swindon for over 10 years.

Media Partners

The Swindon Wildcats enjoy great coverage, with match reports, previews, player interviews from their Media Partners the Swindon Advertiser who have a daily circulation of 22’000.  Other Media Partners are web based SwindonWeb, Swindon Community Radio, BBC Radio Wiltshire and Swindon, and the Link Magazine

Swindon Wildcats online has seen its web hits increase by 25% in the last year, with plans to provide more features and interaction with its supporters for the new season.  Web hits currently average 1200 per day, with 3200 visiting the site the day after the Wildcats defeated the League Champions, Milton Keynes Lightening to knock them out of the Play offs.

Fan Communication

The Wildcats are proud to be able to interact and engage with their supporters through many different sources.  The Wildcats weekly Ezine currently has 1700 subscribers, while their facebook page has over 1400 fans. The club also has the very best Mobile technology at their finger tips and has database of over 1200 mobile numbers of their fans who they text with special ticket offers, news and invites.

Swindon Wildcats Academy

Ice Hockey in Swindon has never been so healthy with 130 juniors being part of the Swindon Wildcats Academy and record numbers attending the Friday evening Learn to Play sessions where youngsters learn the basic ice hockey skills from the Wildcats players and coaches.  The clubs 2nd team the ENL Wildcats also had a tremendous season both unearthing hugely talented players for the future as well as picking up the National Southern League Cup victory.

Swindon Wildcats in the Community

The Wildcats organization is proud of its community programme.  Swindon Wildcats in the Community is about to start its 2nd full year and has been teaching upto 500 children a week to skate, in its Sports England back Learn to Skate programme where the Wildcats players teach primary school children to Ice Skate. The Wildcats in the Community programme is continuing to expand at a rapid rate thanks to its many supporters and sponsors.

The Future

All aspects of the Swindon Wildcats organization from its attendances, commercial partnerships, Wildcats in the Community projects, and the Swindon Wildcats Academy have been growing at a rapid rate in recent years, and the club and its management team have ambitions to grow the club into one of the most successful community sports clubs in the country.
