After a busy season, player coach Aaron Nell, is swiftly beginning his recruitment drive for the 2017/2018 season.
The proposed import drop from five to three makes the recruitment drive harder this year than ever before.
With Polish international Tomasz Malasinski already signed up, attentions will soon turn to the remaining import slots within the Wildcats squad. Discussions remain on-going, allowing the Wildcats to assess all their options and sign the best three import players available to us.
Speaking to swindonwildcats.com Aaron Nell was quick to provide an update regarding his import search, and in particular, the current situation regarding Robin Kovar.
“With the import rules dropping from five to three next year we aren’t in a position to make import decisions at this time of the off season.
“I feel it very important to look at our British players and to improve that part of the team.
“After talking with Robin he’s decided he needs to find a contract for next season ASAP after the tough season he’s had.
“This doesn’t mean Robin won’t be a part of our plans for next season, we’ve left on great terms and I’d like thank Robin for his efforts this season since joining us in January.
Robin himself was quick to commend the team and fan base, by having the following to say:
“I would like to thank the Swindon Wildcats for giving me the opportunity to play with such a great team. Everybody involved made me feel so welcome and I enjoyed every game.
“I would also like to say a special thank you to Sam Bullas for making me feel so welcome to the team and in Swindon.”
