Jonas Hg Bids Farewell To Cats

As we complete our import line-up, we have to say goodbye to another long-standing member of the Swindon Wildcats. Jonas Höög has become synonymous with the Wildcats since arriving in Swindon during the 2010/2011 season.

Jonas went on to ice in 314 competitive league fixtures, scoring a massive 561 points - 188 goals and 373 assists. Alongside this he made a further 18 play-off appearances achieving 21 points. The number 60 will always be famous in Swindon and his puck handling skills will forever be remembered by the adoring fan base at the Link Centre.

Speaking about his departure Player Coach Aaron Nell said:

“I’d like to thank Jonas for his time in Swindon, he’s been a great player for the club and will be missed by the team, backroom staff, office staff and I’m sure the fans. Jonas was a fantastic player and great to watch his skill level and playmaking ability was second to none in our league and on a personal note he was so easy to play with!”

“I’d like to wish Jonas and his family all the best in the future. Looking back, I think Hoogy will be remembered as a legend at the Wildcats and I know he will be welcome back at any time.”

Managing Director Steve Nell added:

“The impact Jonas has had on the team and ice hockey in Swindon will never be forgotten. He is a modern day Wildcats legend and the numbers he posted in his time here will be tough to beat. We thank him for all his efforts with us and wish Jonas and his young family the best for the future; and remind them all they’ll always be welcome in Swindon.”

Everyone at the Swindon Wildcats echoes the thoughts of both Aaron and Steve and would like to wish Jonas, Maria and their children good wishes for the future.
