PREVIEW: Guess Who's Back vs Racers

Sunday January 31, 2016

The Swindon NIHL Wildcats take to the ice once again this coming Sunday evening [January 31], as Dan Sullivan’s side look to lockdown a place in the Cup Semi Final.  Face off is at 7:30pm.

After defeating the Racers by a 5-3 score-line at Alexandra Palace last weekend, all eyes will be on the Swindon Ice Arena this Sunday as the side prepare for their winner-takes-all tie.

With both sides knowing that a win will see them through, it’s all to play for over the 60-minutes and with a plethora of talented OHA youngsters available to him, Sullivan received further good news this week with the announcement that forward Danny Williams, who last played for the side in the 2012-13 season has returned to the setup, while none other than Ryan Aldridge will also be available for selection.

“Danny came through the junior ranks and is a strong, fast skater,” Sullivan told swindonwildcats.com ahead of the weekend.

“He last played in our 2012-13 campaign and scored three times and got one assist in five games, and he’s only 22-years old now, so we’re looking forwards to seeing him back on the ice and seeing what he can do.”

Meanwhile, speaking on the return of Aldridge, Sullivan continued:  “Ry will be a great asset to the team.

“He has a CV full of points will be a player that the rest of the team can learn from.

“With a lot of the OHA being developed through the NIHL team, Ry will be able to take to the ice with some of his roster, which I'm sure he is looking forward to.”

Should the Wildcats suffer a draw or defeat, the side will have to wait on the result between the Bristol Pitbulls and Slough Jets to determine their fate.
