Recreational Hockey

Since the launch of our Adult Learn To Play programme, developments in player capabilities have led to the formation of two Recreational sides which are made up of players (both male and female) of mixed abilities and of all ages ranging from those who are 18 to those over their 40’s.

Teams compete against other Recreational clubs of the same standard and the games are focussed on those who are already competent in playing the game and are looking to move onto a more competitive standard of fixtures.

The team will welcome players and new participants however only over 18 players will be able to join the side when playing in competitive fixtures.

Swindon Recreational Wildcats

The Swindon Rec Wildcats offer the opportunity for aspiring hockey players of all abilities and experience to play competitively with a team.

Regular training provides players with the coaching and skills to develop themselves as well as keeping fit and best of all, it’s fun!

Training is held at the Link Centre every Tuesday evening at 11.15pm during the winter months, meaning that only team members are allowed to attend.  Any players interested in coming along must contact the Swindon Rec Wildcats in advance.

Challenge games are played throughout the summer months both at home and at away venues and supporters or those interested in joining the club are welcome to come and watch. Please email Cathy O’Regan for details of all upcoming fixtures.

Players can request to join the team from the age of 18 with the current age range being between 18 to 50.  Mixed abilities are also catered for and all the club require is that players have mastered the basics at the Learn to Play sessions (which are held by the Swindon Wildcats on Thursday evenings) or equivalent course and that you are enthusiastic and committed.

If you have any questions regarding the Swindon Rec Team please contact Cathy via the email link above.
