Fans Back Their Favourite Cats

Wildcat Fans Back on Board to Support Their Top Players

The Swindon Wildcats are thrilled to announce that Defencemen Stevie Whitfield and Forwards Toms Rutkis, Floyd Taylor and Max Birbraer have all attracted fans backing this season while fellow frontman Sam Bullas has also gain an Associate sponsor from the clubs support too!

“On behalf of the club and the relevant players, I’d like to thank Emily Tudgay [Toms Rutkis] along with Nick and James Handscombe [Stevie Whitfield] who have sponsored their respective players for a second full season, while The Beckett Family [comprising of Mel, Nigel, Ollie and Kyle] have opted for Floyd Taylor once again while Vicky and Neil Davidson have taken up the full player sponsorship of new import, Max Birbraer,” Wildcats Marketing Manager Sally Price told

“The continued backing from the fans for this new season has been amazing, and I’d also like to add our thanks to Jamie Guy and Rachel Woods who have taken out Associate Sponsorship of Sam Bullas.

“We really appreciate everyone’s support – you’ve all been fantastic!”

Speaking about taking out their sponsorship of Floyd Taylor for another season, Melanie and Nigel Beckett said: “We’re delighted to be able to sponsor Floyd once again this season.

“Last year the two boys, Kyle and Ollie had their names on the jersey but this year it's our turn to have a go!

“We're really looking forward to the start of the ice hockey and wish Floyd another strong and successful year with the Cats.”

Meanwhile, talking about their sponsorship of import Max Birbraer, Neil Davidson added:  “I started watching the Wildcats back in 1987 and was a regular at the Link Centre and away games up until 2000 when other commitments started taking up more of my time.

“When I got together with Vicky, we both came along in 2006 and became season ticket holders in Block B.  We first started sponsoring players in 2009 with James Griffin and Jason Cassells and have continued to support the club in this way ever since.

“Having enjoyed a long association with Jonas Hoog from when he joined the team in 2011 up until the 2014-2015, we moved on to Carlo Finnuci last year and now we’re delighted to be welcoming Max Birbraer to the Wildcats roster for the upcoming season.

“We’re looking forward to seeing his tough, physical presence and two-way style of play making a vital contribution to the team in their quest for silverware.”
