2016/17 EPIHL Play-Offs

The 2016-2017 EPIHL playoffs are almost upon us and we’d like to clarify the format ahead of the all-important games this season.

What has changed?

For the last few years our playoffs were always a two legged format with the highest aggregate score qualifying for the Coventry Finals weekend. This year however instead of a two-legged fixture, the top 8 qualifying teams will be put into two groups of four.

How will the groups be decided?

The top eight teams will be broken up into two groups of 4. The teams finishing in 1st, 4th, 5th & 8th will be broken up into group A. Whilst the teams finishing 2nd, 3rd, 6th & 7th in the league will be into group B.

How many fixtures will we play?

Each team in the group will play six games. Three home and three away against the other teams in the group. Two of these games will be midweek fixtures, with one being a home game at the Link Centre and one being on the road. The other four games of the group will be played on weekends as normal. (25th/26th March & 1st/2nd April)

Who makes it to Coventry?

Simply, the teams finishing in the top two places in the group will make up the four semi-finalists at the Coventry finals weekend in April.

Are season tickets valid?

Season tickets will be valid for the first playoff game with the second and third games being charged at the pro-rata price. Season tickets seats for the second and third games will be reserved until Monday 20th March before they go on general sale.
