Wiltshire Air Ambulance | Charity Night | 23rd Feb

Swindon Wildcats are thrilled to announce their next charity night on Saturday 23rd February against the Raiders IHC, the charity in that evening is the ever-incredible Wiltshire Air Ambulance.

Wiltshire Air Ambulance operates an essential Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) in Wiltshire and surrounding counties.

The charity requires £3.75 million each year to keep the air ambulance flying. It operates up to 19 hours a day, 365 days a year. However, Wiltshire Air Ambulance receives no direct Government funding or Lottery grants, so relies on generous donations from the public and local businesses.

In 2018, Wiltshire Air Ambulance was called to 182 incidents in Swindon, the equivalent of once every two days. So, the Wildcats are absolutely thrilled to be supporting such a wonderful local charity.

They will be bringing some paramedics and charity staff along to the game, who will be collecting donations on the night to help support this great cause. On top of this, they will also be bringing one of their mascots, Wilbur, to get involved in some fun activities with our very own Willie Wildcat.

Swindon Wildcats Commercial Manager Sally Price is thrilled to have such a well known and important charity in for a night.

She said: “We are honored to be supporting such a fantastic charity and can’t wait to welcome them to the game on the 23rd February. You never know when you or your family may the need the services of such an amazing organisation, so we must support them in every way we can. Please show your support on Saturday and bring along as much spare change as you have to help make a difference.”
