Bee Series Next Up

Challenge Classic this weekend

The Swindon Wildcats will be looking to continue their excellent start to the preseason schedule after Wednesday evening’s exhilarating clash with the MK Lightning, ended with an impressive 6-1 score-line.

It was a great start to the month as head coach Ryan Aldridge and his team took to the ice in their season opener having only trained together three times before the game, and we preview what’s in store at this weekend’s two game Challenge Classic series against the Bracknell Bees.

While the Wildcats will be pleased to have got their opening game in the books mid-week, Saturday’s opening tie represents the Bees first game of their two game preseason warm-up (both games against the Wildcats) and with the off-ice side of things at the Berkshire club taking massive strides forwards over the summer months, General Manager Ben Beeching told the Bracknell News that the club were just as happy with their on-ice prospects too.

“We are really happy with the team we have put together,” Beeching said.

“We have a great bunch of guys who put it all on the line for the team.  Under the expert guidance of Lukas Smital [Bees head coach], this season will also be a really fun one for our supporters to watch.”

D-Man Jordan Gregory has been added to the visitors roster since we previewed the side back in August, the 18-year old has earned a deal after impressing last season with Smital telling his clubs official website: “Jordan has a lot of promise, and I’m looking forward to seeing him work hard to cement himself in the Bees setup.”
