PREVIEW: Wildcats vs Lightning

It's Kids Go FREE tonight!

The Wildcats five game unbeaten run came to an end in Hampshire yesterday evening [Saturday, November 15th 2014], but following the 2-1 League-Cup defeat at the hands of the Basingstoke Bison, the side will be looking to embark on another winning run as they approach the mid-way point of November.

Despite the defeat, the Wildcats remain at the top of the Cup table which will provide them with solace, but with no further cup games scheduled for the side until the 30th [when the side visit the Invicta Dynamos], attention to improving their league standing will certainly become the new focus tonight, and recapturing their previous good form will be key to that success.

Lightning suffered a 6-3 defeat at the hands of leaders Telford yesterday evening, with Lewis Hook chipping in with two goals (16:22 and 59:59) and Milan Kostourek grabbing one in the middle (33:50), so both teams will be looking to pick up points to avoid a pointless weekend, and with two teams battling out a brace of extremely close contests so far this season, head coach Ryan Aldridge will be looking for his team to come out of the blocks firing on all cylinders tonight.

D-Man Stevie Whitfield will remain absent from the Wildcats roster (concussion), however it is hoped that forward Floyd Taylor will have recovered after he missed out yesterday evening having developed sickness on the journey down to Basingstoke.

Import Henri Sandvik, who also sat out last night’s defeat due to the limited import numbers, is expected to also feature, with head coach having to choose to rest either Jan Kostal, Tomasz Malasinski, Kenton Smith or Jonas Höög.
