Ben Clarke-Leach Called Up to Team GB Men’s Squad for European Cup of Nations
The Bespoke Guardians Swindon Wildcats are delighted to announce that goaltender Ben Clarke-Leach has been called up to the Team GB Men’s squad for the upcoming IIHF European Cup of Nations, his first senior national team selection.
Clarke-Leach, who has impressed throughout his season with the Wildcats, earns this prestigious opportunity as part of a talented group named to represent Great Britain at the tournament hosted at Murrayfield Ice Rink in Edinburgh. The Cup of Nations will see Team GB compete against Poland, Slovenia and Ukraine, offering a high-intensity international challenge and an important step in Clarke-Leach’s international career.
This call-up comes on the back of Clarke-Leach’s outstanding performances at junior level - including being recognised as Netminder of the Tournament as part of Great Britain’s U20 World Championship campaign earlier this season - and highlights his continued development as a standout netminder in British ice hockey.
Clarke-Leach’s selection is a proud moment for both him and the Wildcats organisation, underlining the strength of talent coming through the club and the significant role he has played this season. Representing Team GB at the senior level is a dream for many players, and the entire Wildcats family is behind Ben as he embarks on this exciting international opportunity.
Details of Team GB’s Cup of Nations fixtures and further news on Clarke-Leach’s involvement will be released by Ice Hockey UK in due course - and the Wildcats will be following his progress with immense pride.
