Swindon Wildcats are incredibly proud to announce Emma King as the very first recipient of the Guardians of the Community Award, in partnership with Bespoke Guardians.

The award has been launched to celebrate local people who go above and beyond to make a positive difference in the lives of others, recognising their kindness, courage, commitment and service to the community.

Emma was recognised for her incredible work through the Swindon Sisters Alliance, where she has dedicated herself to supporting families affected by trauma, domestic abuse and difficult life experiences.

Her compassion and willingness to help others were particularly highlighted after a local family experienced the heartbreaking loss of a loved one.

Emma stepped in to provide both practical and emotional support, helping the family with their home, up-cycling treasured belongings and creating a memorial garden to provide a special place of remembrance.

It is just one example of the difference Emma continues to make to people within the local community, often quietly and without seeking recognition.

The Guardians of the Community Award was created by the Wildcats and Bespoke Guardians to shine a light on people just like Emma, whose actions can have a lasting impact on those around them.

Bespoke Guardians CEO Rob Firmin said:

“Communities are strengthened by people who quietly go above and beyond every day. The Guardians of the Community Award is our way of recognising those individuals and saying thank you for the difference they make.”

Emma’s dedication, generosity and commitment to helping others made her a fitting recipient of the inaugural award.

Everyone at Swindon Wildcats would like to congratulate Emma on becoming our very first Guardian of the Community, and thank her for the remarkable contribution she continues to make to the people around her.

Congratulations, Emma!
