On Saturday night the Swindon Wildcats put on a show against the Leeds Knights beating them 5-1 with some fantastic goals! Then on Sunday the Cats completed to the perfect weekend with a comfortable 7-2 victory in Telford against the Tigers.


Seven points this weekend for Jake Bricknell who is on fire for the team, Tomasz Malasinski also scored two big goals on Sunday to get the game rolling for the Cats.


Saturday match report: Wildcats Vs Knights


Jake Bricknell produced a bit of magic for a goal of the season contender as he toe dragged back the defenseman and deked it round Sam Gospel to score the first goal of the game timed at 8:53. Renny Marr then pulled off some big saves to keep the Cats ahead going into the first break.


The Cats then got a powerplay opportunity and took full advantage with Ryan Wells firing a shot in from the blue line and the puck sneaked through Gospel and over the line at 30:33. The Knights did respond with a nice goal from Oli Endicott who first timed the puck into the top corner past Marr at 36:05.


Five minutes into the third period, Glenn Billing then sent the Link Centre crazy with a lovely flicked goal past Gospel at 45:48. Bricknell then scored his second of the game on the powerplay with a powerful slap shot beating Gospel near post at 47:11. Ed Bradley then joined the action with a lovely snipe off the post and in the back of the net timed at 51:06. The Cats killed the rest of the game off limiting the Knights to just 16 shots in the game.

Sunday match report: Tigers Vs Wildcats


Just over ten minutes into the first period, the Wildcats scored another big powerplay goal, Malasinski finding space and ripping the puck past Brad Day timed at 11:44. Tomasz then scored his second of the game with a lovely move from Nell and Bradley who found Malasinski at the back door who tapped it past Day, timed at 15:51. 


The Tigers started the second period much better and we’re rewarded with a lovely goal by Scott McKenzie who fired a quick snap shot past Marr at 22:59. But the Wildcats trusty powerplay got their two goal lead back with another snipe from Ed Bradley into the top corner past Day timed at 25:14. Bricknell then jumped in on the goalscoring action with a lovely move between him and Billing which Bricknell fired past Day at 32:00. 


Dylan Lipsey scored a fifth for the Wildcats with a lovely pass from Nell finding Dylan at the back door who made no mistake, timed at 41:48. Vanya Antonov and Chris Jones then linked up to score a lovely goal times at 50:11. The Tigers pulled one back with a skilled finish from Harry Ferguson timed at 53:03. But the Wildcats wrapped the game up with a nice play between Bricknell and Pakozdi with Balint firing home the Cats 7th goal times at 56:37.
