The Bespoke Guardians Swindon Wildcats can today announce the fifth import to the roster for the 26/27 PINIHL season, in the shape of Canadian forward Liam Fraser.
The 26-year-old, who is celebrating his birthday today, joins the Wildcats from the Rostock Piranhas in the Oberliga.
Last season, he led his team in goals with 30 on his way to a 50-point season, in his first season outside of North America.
The Calgary native spent time in NCAA III where he averaged 1.44 points per game over a 118-game period and was a conference champion in his final two seasons with St. Norbert College.
Moving to Swindon he will be relied upon to add additional scoring to the Wildcats for the new season and will be wearing the #23 jersey for this season as well.
Head Coach Aaron Nell said:
Bringing Liam to Swindon is another big move for us. He is a potent forward who has scored goals wherever he has played. He’s coming off a good year in a good standard of hockey in Germany, and I think will bring a lot to our team.
He’s fast and he can shoot the puck which will add to our speed that we’ve looked to improve over the summer. I’m looking forward to coaching him and seeing what he can do in a Swindon jersey.".
Liam himself added:
I’m really excited to be joining the Swindon Wildcats and can’t wait to get started. From my first conversations with the club, I had a really good feeling about the opportunity. It was clear there are high standards and ambitions here, and that made it an easy decision for me.
I’m looking forward to getting to Swindon, meeting everyone, and getting to work. I’ve heard great things about the Wildcats fans and the atmosphere they create every game, so I’m excited to experience that for myself.
To all the Wildcats fans, I’m looking forward to meeting you and representing the club this season. Hopefully, together we can make it a season to remember."
Corvus Travel will be sponsoring Liam for the 2026/27 season.
