The Bespoke Guardians Swindon Wildcats are thrilled to confirm the arrival of Canadian forward Sean Richards on a two-year deal until the end of the 27/28 season.


The 27-year-old forward arrives from Amiens in Ligue Magnus, the top division league in France. Last year he posted 24 points in 44 league games as Amiens qualified for their post-season play-offs.


Since leaving Canada, Sean has iced for Briancon in France, Tilburg in Germany, as well as the Nottingham Panthers in the EIHL during the 21-22 season.


In Nottingham, he iced in 42 games and posted 15 points, as well as a further two goals in the play-offs.


Head Coach Aaron Nell said:


"I am excited to bring Sean to Swindon for the next two years. He is a fast, physical forward who we will look to contribute offensively for us this year. He is going to be a big part of the team, and we want to really build our offence around his dynamic game. The French league is a high standard, and he has been a solid contributor during his time there, and we are excited to see what he can bring to Swindon!"


Sean added:


"Hello Wildcat fans, I am excited about the year ahead in Swindon and being able to speak the language again! With the success of last year's championship, I hope I can come in and help contribute in any way necessary to continue the success this season and more. I like to use my speed and love attacking off the rush. I forecheck hard and like to bring a gritty physical game when I can.  I’m really looking to being a Wildcat!"
