Swindon Wildcats 5 – 4 Romford Raiders

A thrilling clash at The Link Centre saw the Swindon Wildcats edge out the Romford Raiders 5-4 in a game full of twists, momentum swings, and standout individual performances.
It was the visitors who struck first, with Adam Laishram opening the scoring just 2:52 into the game, assisted by Palmer and Ayliffe, giving Romford an early lead. Swindon responded well, with Logan Vande Meerakker equalising at 07:29, thanks to a setup from Bebris.
Just two minutes later, Tyler Watkins found the net at 09:33, assisted by Jones, putting the Wildcats ahead 2-1 as the home side settled into their rhythm.
The second period saw Romford come out firing. Goals in quick succession from Ewan Hill (26:01) and Tjay Anderson (26:13) turned the game on its head, giving the Raiders a 2-3 advantage. Swindon weren’t down for long though, as Owen Griffiths leveled the score once again with a powerplay goal at 31:12, assisted by Jones.
Into the third, and it was Tyler Watkins again who made the difference, this time lighting the lamp at 40:47, assisted by O’Connor, to reclaim the lead for Swindon at 4-3.
The Raiders, showing no signs of backing down, tied things up once more with Ewan Hill grabbing his second of the night on the powerplay at 51:59, assisted by Palmer and Anderson.
But the final say belonged to the Wildcats. With the clock ticking down, Logan Vande Meerakker delivered his second goal of the game, and what would prove to be the game-winner, on the powerplay at 57:00, assisted by Wells.
