The Link Centre was rocking n rolling on Saturday night with a huge comeback from the Wildcats.
On Sunday the Wildcats came back from 3-0 down to defeat the Telford Tigers 4-3 with just 35 seconds to go.
Coach Aaron Nell stepped up with the late goal to win the game for the Wildcats.
Match report: Saturday 30th November:
The Raiders lead the first period two goals ahead. The first from Pascale who fired it through Marr. Tyler Nixon then doubled the Raiders lead after receiving a great pass from Shaun Miller.
The Wildcats did pull one back through Glenn Billing who tipped the puck past Ethan James. However the Raiders restored their two goal lead with another Defenceman Jack Cooper rifling the puck into the top corner. The Cats fought their way back into the game and Billing grabbed his second with a snapshot through James. The Cats then got a 5 minute powerplay and tied it up through Chris Jones to leave a grandstand third period.
The Cats came out firing in the third with Pakozdi giving the Cats their first lead after he fired it into the top corner. Jones then got his second of the game with another goal In front of the goal catching James off guard. Reed Sayers then put the icing on the cake and wrapped up the game as he fired it high into the net past James.
End of the game: Wildcats 6-3 Raiders
After quite a back and fourth period, the Tigers took the early lead through Mitchell King who fired the puck from the point past Renny Marr and into the back of the net.
The second period was more of the same with Tigers goalie Brad Day making some great saves. The Tigers then doubled their lead, this time through Harry Ferguson who bundled the puck over the line. Thomas Byrne then made it three on the rush and he made no mistake firing it past Marr. The Wildcats did pull one back on the powerplay through Aaron Nell.
The Third period was domination from the Wildcats. Glenn Billing received a great pass from Malasinski and fired it past Day to reduce the deficit to one. Edgars Bebris then jumped in on the play and squeezed the puck past Brad Day. Then with just 35 seconds to go the Wildcats piled on the pressure and it was Aaron Nell who found space in front of the net and tapped it past Day to complete the comeback.
A fantastic weekend for the Wildcats who make up some valuable points on the teams above them.
