The Bespoke Guardians Swindon Wildcats are thrilled to confirm the appointment of Tyler Plews as captain for the 26/27 PINIHL season.


Following the retirement of club legend Sam Bullas, Head Coach Aaron Nell needed to appoint a new captain and looked no further than the Scottish defenceman entering his 9th season in Swindon.


Plewsey, as he is known in Swindon has worn an A for the last four campaigns and is excited to lead the team this year.


I am incredibly happy and honoured to have been given the opportunity from Steve and Aaron to become captain of the Swindon Wildcats.


 It is a huge privilege to lead this team and represent this club that has meant so much to me the last 8 years. A young 20-year-old Tyler Plews arriving in Swindon never thought for one second this day would have come.


I am excited for the season ahead, to give it our all every weekend and defend our title.


As well as Plewsey as captain, we are pleased to confirm our Alternate Captains of Chris Jones and the first time Ryan Wells.


Aaron added:


I’m really happy to have appointed Plewsey as captain this year. He’s grown so much as a player and a person since he first arrived in Swindon, and he knows what it means to captain this club.


Getting the C on his chest will help him grow even more as a leader and with defending the league title this year it’s an exciting time to be Captain.


Giving CJ an A again was a no-brainer and I’m happy that Ryan will also wear an A this year. He’s been a true leader since he first landed in Swindon, and I think the three of them will work incredibly well together this season.
