Remember, remember the 5th of November…. is the start to a very famous poem about a
gunpowder plot in 1605. We’re not planning to blow anything up, but we can give you an
update on what’s happening at SC-HQ and the all-important feedback and scores from last
week’s bowling evening.

The Judges Scores Are In – written by Nigel Beckett, SWSC Committee Member
This was the first time we have extended the bowling night to 12 lanes and what a brilliant
evening everyone had. The quality of the bowling was of a very high standard and looking at the scores, it looks as though the players had spent quite a bit of time at the Bowling Alley
looking to avoid the Tyler Perre award for the lowest scoring Wildcat.

And so to the scores. The winning lane was Lane 12. Congratulations to Rebecca Titcombe,
Jake Goodwin, Robyn Titcombe, Sally Pamphilon, Leigh Stiles and Reed Sayers. Lane 12 put in a great team effort with a combined score of 1,278. A special shout out to Jake Goodwin who scored an individual score of 382 which included 10 strikes over the two games. One of the greatest individual performances of any Wildcat Bowling evening. For the statisticians, Jake's score was 267% of the lowest scoring Wildcat. More of that shortly. The highest scoring junior (12 years old and below) was Rowan Sprules, or how he will be forever known, Mini Paul. A great effort.

And so to the wooden spoon. This year, we had two lanes battling it out to have the lowest score of the evening. After 480 balls bowled they managed the dazzling achievement of a draw. With a score of 67% of the winning teams, the wooden spoon(s) go to Lanes 1 and 7. You know who you are!

And then to the Wildcats. The top performing Wildcat was Jake Bricknell with a score of 277. He was 25 points ahead of the next best Wildcat, Plewsey. Well done Jake. For those who are new to the Wildcat bowling evening, the award for the lowest scoring Wildcat is named after the previous event lowest scorer. This year, the Tyler Perre award is not retained. For our next bowling night, the players will be looking to avoid the Dylan Lipsey award. Bad luck Dylan, see you down the Bowling Alley some time soon for a bit of practice. To Josh Shaw I will say, you need to clock this one as a near miss!

Again, great to see everyone there and we all look forward to our next visit to Tenpin.

Thank you to Nigel and Melanie Beckett for their help in organising the bowling evening, and for spending the time to write up the report. Jake is obviously very useful with a bowling ball, but Dylan … as Nigel has said, perhaps a little more practice is needed! We’ve got a few other things to remind you about. Don’t forget our Raffle for Red competition launched last week and we’re starting with #24. Yes, this means you can win Plewsey’s game-worn red shirt in this week’s raffle. Entries close at 10pm on Sunday so you have just under a whole week left to get your numbers. All numbers are £2.00 each, you can buy these in person from the Supporters Club desk on Saturday.

If you can’t wait or maybe you won’t be at the game on Saturday, you can buy them now by sending us an email to supporters.club@swindonwildcats.com.

The Player of the Month vote has now closed, the winner for October will be announced AFTER the game on Saturday so stick around to see who’s won. As always, stay tuned in to the Supporters Club socials to keep yourself up to date with everything that is happening, and if you have a question or want to know more about the Supporters Club, come and talk to us on game night, we’ll be pleased to help you.
