The Swindon Wildcats start the season with a three point weekend after an overtime loss against the Romford Raiders.
Renny Marr saved 43 shots and helped the Cats earn a valuable point.
Start of the first period:
The tempo of the game started very strong with both teams defending well and keeping the chances to a minimum.
However the Cats got on the board late in the first with Ed Bradley skating into the zone and firing it in the bottom corner of the net at 19:08.
End of the first period: Raiders 0-1 Wildcats
The second period saw the Cats start on the front foot and got a 5 on 3 powerplay opportunity but James stood strong for Romford.
The pressure however, paid off as the Cats doubled their lead. The puck scrambled around the goal and Edgars Bebris jumped in on the play and fired the loose puck into the net at 28:52.
The Raiders then had a 5 on 3 opportunity of their own but Renny Marr made some excellent saves and the Cats defended well.
End of the second period: Raiders 0-2 Wildcats
Ryan Wells nearly extended the Cats lead to three as his slap shot cannoned off the crossbar!
With time running out, the Raiders pulled the goalie for an extra skater and this paid off with Shaun Millers shot from the blue line finding its way into the net at 57:21.
Romford then used this momentum to equalise less than a minute later. This time, Andrew Shewfelt getting a tip on the puck which flew into the top corner at 58:18.
End of the third period: Raiders 2-2 Wildcats
Romford then completed the comeback with Jake Sylvester squeezing the puck past Marr to take the extra point.

A three point weekend for the Wildcats and they are back in action on Saturday for Country night against the Solway Sharks
