The Swindon Wildcats could complete a journey this Saturday, which has been going for 39 games this season. Just one win stands between the club and the NIHLS1 League Title. This could be the first ever title under the Wildcats name in 25 seasons, with the Swindon Phoenix as the last Swindon team to win the league back in 2001. The team are currently on an outstanding 15 game winning streak and if they can increase that to 16 games against Streatham on Saturday, the glory will be theirs.

For what could be, the most memorable game the Better Link Centre ice pad has ever seen. We’re delighted to announce that the night will be made memorable with some very special guests joining us for the evening.

Phoebe Maddison is a teenage singer from North Swindon. She rose to fame by featuring on ITV’s The Voice Kids back in 2018. After being coached by worldwide superstar Pixie Lott, Phoebe competed in the show right up to the battle rounds. We are over-the-moon to say that not only will Phoebe be joining us, but she will be singing the national anthem at the start of the game as well.

You can watch her performance from last year on The Voice here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPKPG2It3ms

Adam Henson who is a TV personality from Countryfile will also join us for the match on Saturday evening. Adam grew up in the Cotswolds, so is no stranger to the Swindon area, and is perhaps the UK’s most well-known farmer. He presents Countryfile to millions of viewers every weekend, like he has since he joined the show back in 2001. Adam is coming down to support the Wildcats as they look to #ChaseTheTitle once more against Streatham.

As well as Phoebe and Adam joining us, we are pleased that we will be getting a huge amount of local media coverage and possibly visits from BBC Points West and ITV West Country as well. Who are hopefully going to attend the game and capture some memories for us all to savour.

Speaking after confirming all this Commercial Manager Sally Price added:

“I cannot express the excitement in the office this week, we’re all working very hard to put together some great plans for the game on Saturday and the support has been incredible! We have some local celebrities coming to support the team and some news coverage from some huge media organisations, this really is a game not to be missed! I cannot wait until Saturday, I have so much faith in our team, it’s time to take the title!”

Make sure you have your tickets for all this, and our usual game-day activities because this is the game you DO NOT WANT TO MISS!
