After a week of emotion and disappointment, there is some good news to come out of the
Wildcats head office in time for the Easter weekend.
Cardwave Services, one of the Clubs major sponsors has offered to provide a fans coach for
the upcoming first leg of the National Cup Final at Sheffield on Wednesday 11 th April. There
is no cost to travel, that’s right, it is a FREE coach for all fans but there are a limited number
of seats available. Speaking about the gesture, Cardwave Chief Executive and Chairman of
the Supporters Club Paul Norbury says “it’s been a tough week for everyone associated with
the Club and I wanted to do something to lift the spirits. My company has been providing
the coaches for the team during the regular season so this was an obvious thing to do. We
have a brilliant Club and we should be putting all our efforts behind the team and
supporting them in the National Cup final, so it made sense to help as many fans as possible
make the journey. Sheffield needs to get ready for the Barmy Army, we’re coming to win
the Cup”.
There will be two coaches going to Sheffield, the first will be reserved exclusively for the
team, but a 94 seater luxury double-decker has been allocated for the fans. Paul added “It
would be really great if all fans could be at the Link on the 11 th to wave the team off. I really
hope all the Swindon fans can come together, put the disappointment of last week behind
us and show our team that we’re right behind them”.
Head coach Aaron Nell commented “this is an unbelievable gesture from Paul and our
friends at Cardwave, it will mean a lot to me and the players to have as many fans there as
possible. The thought of a Swindon convoy heading to Sheffield to stake our claim on the
Cup is really exciting, I am sure the coach will be full”.
The team coach is scheduled to leave at 13.30pm on Wednesday 11 th April and the fans
coach will leave soon after. The seats will be allocated on a first-come basis and anyone
wanting to travel needs to send an email to supporters.club@swindonwildcats.com
The Supporters Club will organise a raffle on the coach to win a new season jersey and all
monies received will go directly into the Supporters Club to help fund the cost of coaches for
the 2018/19 season.
