Swindon Wildcats are saddened to confirm that Jonas Hoog has announced his intention to retire from professional hockey this summer. Jonas has become synonymous with the Wildcats and returned this Christmas to help the Wildcats to the league trophy.

The super Swede iced in over 350 games for the club contributing over 200 goals and over 400 assists since his first arrival to Swindon back in 2010. Last season in particular helped with the Wildcats run to the league title and became the first piece of silverware Jonas won.

Head Coach Aaron Nell added:

“Much like with Jan, losing Jonas to retirement is very sad for the Wildcats. It is not just his on ice product we will miss; he was a very popular member of the dressing room. It was fitting he could come back and not only retire as a Wildcat, but also retire as a league champion.

His style of hockey was a joy to watch, some of the plays he made over his time in Swindon were unbelievable, and we will miss his talent and his personality.

I am sure the fans will give him the best possible send off at Bully’s testimonial this weekend. Whilst it is Bully’s day I hope the crowd give Jan and Jonas the reception they deserve as a thank you for all their efforts in Swindon jerseys.”

You will be able to grab tickets on the door for Sam Bullas’ Testimonial, face-off is 6:15pm and tickets are priced at (seated) £12 Adult and £6 Child whilst standing is £10 Adult and £5 Child.
