Swindon Wildcats are thrilled to announce that 17-year-old British forward Jake Williams will be joining the Swindon Wildcats 2 on a two-way deal with Oxford City Stars.

Jake will be playing for the Wildcats 2 when his schedule allows but will gain valuable experience and ice-time with Oxford.

Jake, who graduated from Okanagan Academy UK last year, put up a combined 41 points in 31 games for OHA and the Swindon Wildcats 2 side. The young forward is making his first step into senior hockey and will benefit from this new two-way arrangement between the clubs.

Head Coach Aaron Nell added:

“We are delighted to have to an agreement with Oxford for Jake. He’s a talented young forward who will really benefit from the ice time he will get in Oxford.

Simon and I have spoken over the summer and we think he’ll really grow as a player over the season and it will be good for him to play for both teams.

Meanwhile Simon Anderson, Head Coach of the Stars said:

“I’m looking forward to working with Jake.

“I’m delighted Swindon have agreed to allow Jake to come over to us and I thank Aaron Nell for setting this up.

“Jake has had a great hockey education in the OHA UK programme under Ryan Aldridge and will come to us ready to play. This is a great chance for Jake to test himself at the next level, here in Oxford.”
